Americans Cheering After Joe Kennedy Hits Trump With The Simple Truth

Democratic Representative Joe Kennedy came forth on Thursday to suggest that racism was involved in President Trump’s claim in which denied the fact nearly 3,000 people had perished as a direct result of hurricanes hitting Puerto Rico.

“This is what your math looks like when you count black or brown lives less than white lives,” Kennedy wrote.

Trump claimed that the numbers of the dead were altered by Democrats to undermine him.

“…..This was done by the Democrats in order to make me look as bad as possible when I was successfully raising Billions of Dollars to help rebuild Puerto Rico. If a person died for any reason, like old age, just add them onto the list. Bad politics. I love Puerto Rico!” Trump tweeted out Thursday morning.

Trump’s remarks revived criticism of the government’s lacking response to two hurricanes that devastated Puerto Rico last year. Puerto Rico’s official death toll, which was released several months after the storms, discovered that 2,975 people had died as a result. The death toll was later raised in August from 64 to match that of a study of mortality rates and death certificates that was put together by The George Washington University. The hurricanes also caused massive damage to the island.

Trump labeled the federal response to the hurricanes in Puerto Rico an “unsung success” during a press conference at the Oval Office on Tuesday.
