Sanders posted the video on her official Twitter account in an attempt to support the White House’s decision to suspend Acosta’s press credentials after his heated exchange with Trump.

Sanders pointed to Acosta’s interaction with the press aide as the reason for stripping him of his “hard pass.”

During the press conference, the aide had tried to snatch a microphone away from Acosta as he pressed Trump with questions. However, he refused to hand it over. The clip shows his arm gently touching hers during the interaction.

“We will … never tolerate a reporter placing his hands on a young woman just trying to do her job as a White House intern,” Sanders declared in the announcement. “This conduct is absolutely unacceptable.”

Matt Dornic, CNN’s vice president of communications and digital partnerships, took to Twitter to claim that it was “absolutely shameful” for Sanders to post the video.

“History will not be kind to you,” Dornic tweeted out.

Many also pointed out that the video was first shared by an account linked to Infowars, the website infamously run by right-wing conspiracy theorist Alex Jones.

CNN media correspondent Brian Stelter was first to reference this connection, asking: “Surely you don’t trust Infowars…?

Acosta later updated the situation saying he had been barred from the White House:
